Florida water is a mystical cologne mingling floral and citrus scents. It is widely popular in ritual offerings and purification rituals. The original production was 1808 by perfumer Murray of Murray and Lanman, and still in demand to this day.
Florida Water was regarded as a unisex cologne, suitable for men and women alike and used in barber shops as an aftershave and cologne.
The name refers to the fabled Fountain of Youth,which was said to be located in Florida, as well as the "flowery" nature of the scent.
