Kuanyin Statue - Compassion - 5.5"

This exquisite white resin Statue of Kuanyin is handcrafted in Oregon, USA by Mission Studios, and is part of their "Kuanyin and Friends" Collection. The height of this statue is approximately 5.5 inches.

Kuanyin is the Goddess of Mercy, Compassion, and Healing. She is said to be the one who stills the waters and quiets the restless earth. Though she is a Bodhisattva, one who is qualified to enter Nirvana, she chose to remain on Earth to bring enlightenment to others: While standing before the gates of Paradise she heard a cry of anguish from the earth below. Turning back to earth, she renounced her reward of eternal bliss but in its place found immortality in the hearts of the suffering. Her name Kuanyin, means “She who harkens to the cries of the world”.

In this particular statue, Kuanyin is depicted in the classic standing pose. Her right hand is raised in blessing and holds a rosary. Her left hand pours offerings from her blessing vase.
