Camphor essential oil comes from a tree. The essential oil is steam distilled from the wood, creating a colorless oil. Some of the countries that produce Camphor essential oil include Borneo, Sumatra, China and Japan. Camphor essential oil has traditionally been used as an insect repellant (flies and moths), as well as being utilized in detergents, soaps, disinfectants and room sprays.

Camphor essential oil blends well with Frankincense, Ylang Ylang, Orange and Mandarin essentials oil.

Specific Cautions for Camphor Essential Oil

Use with care. Avoid during pregnancy. Epileptics and asthmatics, as well as people with fever, should avoid camphor. Overdoses can cause convulsions and vomiting. Do not use in aromatherapy masasage.
