Embroidery Iron On Patch - Thunderbird and Moon - Joe Wilson

"Sometimes you can see the Moon peeking through the clouds in the evening when there is thunderous activity, and the Thunderbird is the most powerful spirit-helper in our cultural beliefs. It is my privilege to revive an ancient culture that is specifically mine to be proud of, and I share what is ours with great joy."

This patch is 8" in diameter.

Joe Wilson was born in 1967 into the Cowichan Tribes Native Band and was raised in Duncan, BC. His interest in art began in elementary school and when he was in grade 12 he made his own silkscreen print editions. Joe first began selling his carvings at age 17 at a local Koksilah Hills store. Since 1984 his work has reflected his search for his own cultural identity in Coast Salish art.
