When Africans were kidnapped and brutally brought to "The New World," they hid their deities and rituals in stories of saints, angels, and legendary characters. Their deities included a powerful cadre of orishas, lwas, goddesses. From Egypt to South Africa, Cuba to even indigenous Australia, we chant their names then and now: Yemaya, Odudua, Erzulie, Ala, Isis, Maat among others.

Each chapter of the book is dedicated to an African goddess. We learn about the deity, how to invoke and honor her energy, and how she honors you. In addition to an accompanying declaration, there will be a self-love, self-care, or manifesting ritual related to each goddess.
